Introduction to AOTD

The Advanced Oleochemical Technology Division was officially established as a division on 18 May 2004 following the upgrading of the Advanced Oleochemical Technology Centre to a Division.

The AOTD Division is tasked to undertakes research in downstream activities and are implemented by four units: Synthesis & Product Development, Quality & Environmental Assessment, Process Engineering & Design and Oleo Product Development units.

The Division drives to spearhead the development of the oleochemical downstream activities in Malaysia through the following objectives:

  1. Conducting R&D in synthesis of new chemicals for non-food applications
  2. Conducting R&D to add value to palm-based basic oleochemicals
  3. Developing new products from oleochemicals and derivatives
  4. Providing advisory and technical services.
